You probably came here for the knitting patterns, and I hope you found what you were looking for. It’s been a long time since 2012 and the Free Chunky Mitten Pattern, and while I still knit almost daily, I no longer aspire to become a knitwear designer.

This is probably why I'm not done yet. #babycuddles #amwriting #wahm #heknewijustturnedtheovenon

This is me now, with two more littles (that makes three total, though the oldest is almost as tall as I am, so he’s not so little anymore) and a lot more confidence to pursue what I really love.

I like to park at the intersection of fiction and feminism, and specialize in writing romance novels featuring women with agency. Navigating life through the patriarchy is difficult enough. Women deserve to read about strong, smart, capable characters, loving people of all colors, shapes, and sizes being brave.

What I’m working on:

The Other Lane is about a lonely young woman starting her dream business and finding the confidence to trust herself and command respect from the man she loves.

In Ethan & Juliet, a midwife and an OB/GYN disagree about more than epidurals and interventions, but when they meet again after four years Juliet is tempted to put her entire future at stake to give Ethan a second chance.

I also offer writing, ghostwriting, and proofreading services. Click here for more details!

  1. Hi,

I was referred to you by Robin who is my teacher in a crocheting class at Hobby Lobby.

I am going to be taking a spinning class at the Yarn Barn on April 14th. I am trying to find a group that meets regularly to help me spin and maybe weave down the road. Robin told me to contact you for info.

I am looking for people to encourage me and help me learn spinning .past the one class. Plus I just want to meet people interested in the same things and friendship.

I I can join your group or know of a group in Topeka that would be awesome.

I hope to hear from you soon!!!

  2. Your blog is so wonderful and I really enjoy reading it. I wanted to let you know that I have nominated your blog for a Kreativ Blogger Award because of the great, beautiful, amazing content you create.

  3. Marla,
I am so excited to be working with you at KHF. I just heard in the staff mtg. this morning that you had the Tinydino studio on Etsy, and then I was looking up the Potwin Fiber guild mtg for tonight to figure out what time…I saw Tinydino and had to check it out. So thrilled to have you on board. When I read your info page, I thought WOW, we should get along great. My dream is to have a farm….and I am just learning to spin and taught myself to knit a couple of years ago. See you on Monday. Again….welcome aboard. Sherry

  4. Do you have plans to teach knitting classes in the near future? I am interested in learning to knit and am looking for a class in Topeka
